Each home picks one way to reward chores:
- Allowance: kids earn money into a virtual piggy bank, and you pay it out.
- Points: kids earn points and trade them for custom rewards you create, like extra screen time or a movie night.
- None: chores have no rewards.
The setting applies to the whole home, so every chore in that home uses it.
Change the reward type
- Tap the Settings tab.
- Under Current Home, tap Home Settings.
- Tap Reward Type and choose Allowance, Points or None.
- For allowance, tap Currency to pick your currency.
You can also open these settings from the gear icon on the Rewards tab.
Profiles with Limit Access cannot change them.
What happens when you switch
- Chores show a Reward Amount for allowance, or Points for points.
After switching, edit your chores and set the reward in the new type, or they will not earn anything.
- Allowance and points are kept separately.
Switching does not convert one into the other, and switching back shows the earlier balances again.
- Custom rewards are only used in points homes.
