Kids and parents check off chores from the Home tab.
Each chore has one or more tasks, and the chore is done when every task is checked off.
Complete a chore
- Open the Home tab.
- Check the name at the top of the screen.
It shows whose chores you're looking at.
To change it, tap the name and choose from Select Member.
- The calendar shows today by default.
Below it are the chores due that day.
- Tap a chore.
- Check off each task as you finish it.
- If the chore needs a photo, tap Take Photo and add one.
When everything is done, a celebration plays and any reward is added to the balance.
If there's nothing to do, you see "You're all caught up! No chores for today."
Who can complete a chore
It depends on how the chore is assigned:
- Shared: anyone assigned can complete it for everyone.
If no one is assigned, anyone in the home can complete it.
- Individual: each person has their own copy.
Only that person can check it off, so switch to their profile to do it for them.
- Rotate: only the person whose turn it is can complete it.
A Household Manager can complete it on anyone's turn.
On the Home tab, a Household Manager sees everyone's chores.
Other members see their own chores and chores that aren't assigned to anyone.
Completing a chore late
You can complete a chore on a past day.
Pick the day on the calendar, or tap the chore in the Overdue section on today's date.
See How to handle overdue chores.
You can't complete a chore for a day after it's due.
Unchecking a task
Tap a checked task to uncheck it.
A kid with Limit Access can only uncheck tasks they checked off themselves.
Parents can also flag a task as not done properly.
See How to flag a task as incomplete.
Photos
Some chores need a photo before they count as complete.
You see "A photo is required to complete this chore" until one is added.
- Tap Take Photo.
- Choose Camera or Gallery.
Adding photos is a premium feature.
See How to require photo proof for a chore.
Troubleshooting
- "Select a member to complete tasks": no member is selected on this device.
Tap the name at the top of the Home tab and pick one.
- "It's not your turn to complete this chore.": it's a rotating chore and it's someone else's turn.
- "You are not assigned to this chore.": the selected member isn't assigned, or it's someone else's copy of an individual chore.
Switch to the right member.
- "You can't complete this chore yet.": you picked a day after the chore's due date.
Go back to the due date or today.
- "You can't uncheck this chore because someone else completed it.": only the person who checked the task, or a parent, can uncheck it.
- The chore isn't on today's list: check the date on the calendar, and check that the right member is selected at the top of the Home tab.
Chores can also be in a different home, see How to switch between homes.
