How to invite other users to a home

Invite a partner, a co-parent or a child so they can use Chore Boss on their own phone. Each invite is for one member of your home, so the person who joins sees the chores and rewards of that member.

Before you start

• You need to be signed in. If you are not, tap Settings at the bottom of the screen and tap Sign In.
• The person you invite needs the Chore Boss app on their phone.
• Inviting people is free. If you have premium, the people you invite get it too. See Will users I invite into my account also need a subscription?

Step 1: Add the person as a member

Skip this step if the person already has a member profile in your home.

1. Tap Settings at the bottom of the screen.
2. Tap My Homes.
3. Tap the home you want to invite them to.
4. Tap Add Member.
5. Enter their Name and choose their options, such as Household Manager for another parent or Limit Access for a child.
6. Tap Save.

You can also add a member from the + button on the Home tab, then Add Member.

Step 2: Share the invite

1. Tap Settings, then My Homes, then the home.
2. Find the member's card and tap Share Invite Code.
3. Choose how to send the invite:
   • Via QR Code: ask the other person to scan the QR code on your screen with their phone.
   • Via Text, Email or WhatsApp: tap Share and send them the link.

Share Invite Code does not appear on the member who is selected on your own phone.

Step 3: The other person joins

On their phone, the other person opens Chore Boss, taps Settings, then Join a Home, and scans your QR code or pastes your link. See How to join a home with an invite code.

Once they join, any change one of you makes syncs to everyone in the home.

Troubleshooting

• The QR code keeps loading: the invite is made online, so check your internet connection, then go back and tap Share Invite Code again.
• I can't find Share Invite Code: make sure you are signed in and that you opened the member list from Settings, then My Homes.
• I don't see My Homes: the member selected on this phone has Limit Access. Switch to a parent's profile from the name at the top of the Home tab.
