How kids ask for a reward

In a points home, kids can ask for one of your custom rewards from their own profile. A Household Manager then approves or declines it. Nothing is spent until it's approved.

Ask for a reward (for kids)

  1. On the Rewards tab, tap the gift icon at the top right.
  2. Tap the reward.
  3. Tap Ask for It, then confirm.

The reward now shows Requested until a parent answers.

A kid can ask when they have enough points, counting points they've already asked for in other requests. They can ask for each reward once at a time.

To stop asking, tap the kid on the Rewards tab, then tap Cancel Request under Reward Requests.

Approve or decline a request

You need to be a Household Manager.

  1. On the Rewards tab, look for "1 reward request" under a kid's name.
  2. Tap the kid.
  3. Under Reward Requests:
    • Tap Approve to open Redeem Rewards with the reward picked, then tap Redeem. If they're short, you can add points under Need More Points?.
    • Tap Decline, add a reply if you like, and tap Decline again.

When a kid asks, every phone where a Household Manager profile is selected gets a notification. The kid gets a notification when the reward is redeemed or declined.

Troubleshooting

  • There's no Ask for It button Your home uses allowance instead of points, or a Household Manager profile is selected.
  • "Not enough points yet." Earn more points first. Points already asked for in other requests count too.
  • "Already claimed." It's a one-time reward that was already redeemed.
  • "This request was already answered or cancelled." Someone else answered it first. Pull down to refresh.
